Scenes
After the urgent wind had insisted strongly
that the sullen
clouds depart,
the April day dawned clear and glorious.
The amazed trees shivered slightly
In the departing breeze
And flounced their brand new leaves.
The woodpecker knocked and woke
The startled ladybugs,
And the tulips kissed the violets with joy.
The grass couldn’t contain itself
And crept into the path,
Leaving behind a trail of
dandelions.
The Darning Needle sewed along
The patchwork fields
And butterflies raced out to spread the word-
That Spring was born!
The Grand-Designer label read:
“ This day--- made in
heaven.”
