EVENING NOCTURNE

EVENING NOCTURNE

The trees across the canyon
Bend their stately boughs in the cool breeze
The blue-black of the sky frames
The majestic silhouette.
These beauties of God
Only serve to draw their bow over the
Heart strings of my soul
And make it sing.
Beyond the canyon and over the hill
The mighty ocean more than equals
The splendor of the stately trees that sigh
Yet, each in it’s own fashion
Proclaim the beauty and magnitude
Of Him on high.
I, in my abode, gaze on the last rays of
Light stealing across the sky.
My thoughts are far from the scene
Yet they are closely intermingled..
And I wonder, as I gaze, whether he
Who sails on the rough sea
Can feel the presence of the Omnipotent
Spirit as can I ?

Designer Scenes- By Colleen E. Stout

                                      Designer Scenes

After the urgent wind had insisted strongly
                                that the sullen clouds depart,
the April day dawned clear and glorious.

                     The amazed trees shivered slightly
                            In the departing breeze
And flounced their brand new leaves.

                     The woodpecker knocked and woke
                            The startled ladybugs,
And the tulips kissed the violets with joy.

                     The grass couldn’t contain itself
                           And crept into the path,
Leaving behind a trail of  dandelions.

                     The Darning Needle sewed along
                             The patchwork fields
And butterflies raced out to spread the word-

                    That Spring was born!

                    The Grand-Designer label read:
“ This day--- made in heaven.”
